Well, the day started off in a rather "yukky" way. My dog managed to tear apart the chicken pen and grab 2 hens. I managed to save one but after Rosie tore off with the other one my other 3 dogs joined her and well....
But I digress....
The weekend was spent in a productive manner. We ran into town and picked up a few building supplies to start building a porch! I am so excited. Then we are enclosing the outdoor kitchen with screen and lattice work and getting a propane oven!!! Not a grill but an oven. Cake baking can commence! We are getting a new grill too but that will wait for a month or so.
We also decided to build a new shed. (as well as fix the chicken pen!)
I have been busy testing our soil, gathering seeds, starting some indoors and getting ready to plant a few bulbs.
Our anniversary was Valentines Day and we waited til Saturday to celebrate. Michael took me out to eat and then to the bookstore where he bought me Joel Salatin's book "Folks this Ain't Normal".
Oh and I added 10 cans of chili to my larder. Leave me a comment telling me what you added to yours!!
